Following the completion of the design for the first building of the Bushehr Governorate, after holding meetings and presenting the design, the client introduced new requirements that could not be accommodated within the existing space. Therefore, a new plot of land, approximately two hectares in size, located on the outskirts of the city, was allocated to address the client’s needs for the new design. The new design, similar to the initial design of the Governorate building, took into account archetypes, the climatic and urban conditions of Bushehr, as well as the features of the new site, including the presence of a tidal creek (khor) at the end of the land. Among the design considerations were sunbreakers, shenashils (traditional lattice screens), and materials compatible with the climate, such as pilotis (stilt-like structures) and a central courtyard.
In addition to the required building space, complementary spaces such as an amphitheater and service areas were incorporated into the site in a way that reflects the spirit and atmosphere of the architecture of Bushehr and Iran.
